What Sells Books – Which Strategy Works for Your Book?

What Sells Books
310 Pages
ISBN 978-0-945648-36-9

This is the book that brings together all the major strategies and tactics for book marketing as it is today - a fast-growing and astoundingly complex field. While many of the other hundreds of books on book marketing focus on a relatively small number of options, What Sells Books surveys the larger world (and it is a whole world) of book promotion alternatives, and helps you decide which is best for your book. The author, Randy Stapilus, has been a small press publisher for almost 30 years and wrote this book as a way of collecting the best ideas and options for getting books sold.

About Randy Stapilus (Portland, Oregon Author)

Randy Stapilus

Randy Stapilus is an author of about two dozen books (the exact number depends on how you count) and publisher at Ridenbaugh Press, which he founded. From his first book Paradox Politics, published in 1988, he continued producing more books written both by himself and others over the next 20 years using traditional printing and marketing techniques. Operations expanded sharply with the arrival of print on demand options that were both technically proficient and financially practical. In all he has published about 50 books. In 2013 he became a regular writer for BookWorks, the association aimed at assisting independent authors and publishers, associated with the book publishing trade magazine Publishers Weekly. He also is a regional newspaper columnist (a former newspaper reporter and editor) and publisher of periodicals on the public affairs and water rights. Stapilus lives in Carlton, Oregon, with his wife, Linda (who has edited most of Ridenbaugh’s books, including this one), and varying numbers of canines.
