The experts say that 'equal pay for equal work' will take another 100 years (!) to be fully implemented. With the 10/19 publication of The Quotient (aka QTNT), that statement is no longer true. Taken from the Equal Pay Act of 1063, the phrase "Equal Pay for Equal Work" rings hollow. The Proper Pay for the Best Performance is the battle cry of the QTNT movement.

If you are not being paid fairly, The Quotient offers you a direct and simple process to identify your achievements on the job, source your value to your employer and be able to defend your claims to management--at all levels. Similarly, your employer can easily see why what you say is accurate. The good news is that none of this is difficult!

Rick has been able to point out achievements his clients had not recognized simply because they were too close to the situation. To illustrate, fourteen “Q-Studies” have been placed throughout The Quotient to explain the concepts and guide the reader through the achievement 'acquisition' process. These include an executive assistant who found thousands of dollars in uncollected discounts her company was not receiving; the construction superintendent who saved his company millions of dollars by building a simple bridge over the worksite getting his workers to the job more quickly, and the bank VP who saved his bank during one of our national financial meltdowns but never knew he had done so--until Rick's prodding him to ask.

As Doug Thorpe, author of The Uncommon Commodity, writes in the introduction: “For two decades Rick Gillis has disrupted the traditional thinking about resumes and job search. People who followed Rick’s guidance found quick and effective results even in the worst of job market conditions. Now, Rick blazes a new trail with The Quotient.

About Rick Gillis (Houston, Texas Author)

Rick Gillis

Rick Gillis helped launch the first job board in the Neolithically-early days of the Internet—1997! Because the local newspaper poo-pooed the Internet as ‘just another passing fad’, that first board was exceptionally successful. As the sales guy, Rick became the ‘face’ of that board and was able to meet and associate with HR professionals who were curious about this new Internet-thing. Once they saw that it was good, the site was on its way—even though it no longer exists today.

What came from this was Rick becoming an expert in job search just prior to the explosion of the Internet bubble, the recession, and banking authorities closing banks all across the nation. This confluence of events led Rick on a path speaking about job search across the country; hosting 2 radio shows and even a TV show. Four books on job search and one about professional, personal promotion on the job has led to the publication (Oct 2019) of The Quotient—which is decidedly NOT about job search.

Now Rick has published The Quotient (aka QTNT), an all new concept that will change the discussion of Equal Pay for Equal Work to the PROPER PAY FOR THE BEST PERFORMANCE. The QTNT is a game changer for anyone who feels they are not being paid fairly for the value they deliver to their employer. Although still an expert in job search, Rick’s goal now is to share The Quotient methodology with workers across the US and beyond. Although the concept is astonishingly simple it will be the motivated worker who will truly benefit from The QTNT.
