About Jennifer L Rowlands (Rochester, New York Author)

Jennifer L Rowlands

I grew up in the Catskills where the world was quiet and beautiful, perfect for an introvert like me. I lived on a mountain, mostly secluded from other neighbors. This gave me plenty of opportunity to explore nature, as well as my own imagination. I will always love my childhood playground, but I left to find more opportunities. I attended college in Geneseo, NY and started to build a life with my husband in the suburbs of Rochester, NY.

I'm now a wife, mother, and full-time employee. In what spare time I can find for myself, I love to read and write. I started writing with a historical fiction novel, which was finished but never edited or published. Since then, I've bounced around between genres: children's fiction, YA romantic comedy, fantasy. High fantasy is by far my favorite genre to write. There is such a freedom in creating your own world and characters that simply don't abide by any rules known by our world.

I now hold author signings and other events to promote, not only my books, but reading in general. The ability to read is such an important skill in life, but it is also a gateway to adventures and characters we wouldn't find any other way.
