Civil War diary of Confederate soldier Robert Bagby who was a prisoner at Camp Douglas, Chicago from 1863 until 1865.
Bagby served as a nurse in the prisoner's hospital and had a unique knowledge of conditions there.
The book is annotated with events concurrent with his entries.
