Yesterday Maxwell fell to save a thirsty flower. Now he experiences the water cycle as he turns into vapor, then a snowflake and eventually back into water. At each change he asks himself “how can I change and still be me?” At the end of the story, he meets a dandelion who goes through changes of her own and asks the same question.

“Am I Still Me?” is a story that celebrates growth and change.

About Joseph Moore (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Author)

Joseph Moore

Joe Moore is a children’s book author from Pittsburgh, who has lived in Johnstown for the last 20 years. He has two teenage daughters: Maddie and Marissa who were the inspiration behind his picture books.

His picture books have positive messages. “Maxwell, the Raindrop Who Wouldn’t Fall” encourages self acceptance, and “Maxwell the Raindrop: Am I Still Me?” celebrates growth and change.

With both Maxwell books, he has visited many area schools, and appeared on local TV and radio. The stories have been performed live onstage by young people at the Arcadia Theatre and Community Arts Center as part of local youth acting classes.

A popular Altoona weatherman reads both “Maxwell” books to students on his school visits around the central PA region.

Recently, Joe started a Maxwell the Raindrop Fund through Community Foundation for the Alleghenies. He has been donating $4 from each book sold to the fund, which allows local underprivileged children to attend a week-long art camp at Community Arts Center at no cost to them. In 2019 5 area students benefited from the fund.
