Giving My Self to the Wind

When I wrote the poem "Light the Light," I had no idea I wanted to be a writer. I had given a copy to my mom and forgotten about it. When she presented me with a hand-stitched sampler with the poem on it a few years later, I was truly surprised...barely remembering that I'd even written it! Isn't it cool? Our moms are the best.
