TWELVE-YEAR-OLD BELLA MAGDALENE is fatherless, motherless, and being raised by the only family she has left. A young and adventurous girl who loves exploring the nearby woods and photography, her world turns into an unexpected horrific nightmare when she witnesses a murder in those same woods she loves to take pictures in. Barely escaping with her life after being seen, she goes on the run, praying the killers won’t ever find her.

FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC JUDAH BROOKS is a man who knows all about being an orphan. Seeing his parents murdered right in front of his eyes when he was a child, the thirty-year-old has since backslidden from the roots he was raised in. But when a surprising event happens inside a house fire one day, and when a conversation with his girlfriend and other things begin to take place that can’t be summed up to just mere coincidence, life for Judah starts to change. Especially when he finds a twelve-year-old girl named Bella hiding out in his woodshop, making him wonder what’s her story and why the look of fear is written on her face.

WHAT STARTS OUT AS TWO STRANGERS between Judah and Bella soon becomes a close-knit, trusting relationship after the identities of the killers are found out and after she tells him what she saw in the woods. Vowing to protect Bella at whatever the cost, even if it’s his own life, Judah boards a rollercoaster ride that gets hairier, more and more difficult, and increasingly dangerous the farther it takes him. What the two once strangers now turned close friends don’t know is that the killers have been doing their homework, putting everything together and finding out where Bella is hiding and who’s protecting her. And when Judah comes to find this out, he hopes and prays he has enough fight and life left in him to keep Bella alive for a final showdown that he knows will end in blood.
