Was it too much to ask...just turn off the damned machines and let her die in peace? That's all eighteen-year-old Daisy Sugarbush asks after an explosion leaves her blind, horribly disfigured, and in unbearable pain. But her pleas are ignored, and a dedicated medical team saves her life, against her will. Still, she has a plan, a way to be rid of a life she cannot bear, and success is just a matter of time.

In a final attempt to save her, they send in Arthur, a therapist with uncanny abilities drawn from a shadowy past, but can he succeed where others have failed?

About Mike Owens (Virginia Beach, Virginia Author)

Mike Owens

Mike Owens was born in a small North Carolina town, nearby Winston-Salem being the closest identifiable landmark. He claims to bleed Tar Heel Blue, having received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. He topped off the educational effort with an MFA degree in creative writing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.

During his years of medical practice he worked extensively with hospice programs, and his writing themes involve the often-contentious interaction of medical science and medical ethics. His latest work, SCREWED, published by The Wild Rose Press, is his first venture into the world of steamy romance. He lives in Norfolk, VA with wife, Marilyn, and the ghost of their beloved Weimaraner, Molly.
