Cracks in the Cobblestone is a quaint historical murder mystery with vibrant characters and a hint of paranormal activity. A mutual fascination with the Titanic tragedy is the unlikely force that unites two women from different worlds to solve a quirky river town’s long-forgotten mystery. Amelia Thornton is the feisty owner of a school for young ladies who wants her husband to disappear. A grieving detective arrives to investigate when Amelia’s husband does vanish, along with her money. But the detective’s plans go awry. Much later, an odd presence reveals itself to cub reporter Meghan Murphy. Could the spirits inhabiting the town’s cobblestone street lead the women to each other to discover what has remained buried for decades?

Susan E. Sagarra is author of the cozy mystery Cracks in the Cobblestone (2015) and the mystery/thriller Bus Stop Angels (2016). She is the Asst. Executive Director, Membership and Marketing, of The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. She previously was the inaugural managing editor of a St. Louis-based newspaper, West Newsmagazine; editor of the Show-Me Institute; communications director of the Gateway Section of the PGA; a sports editor for the Suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis (St. Charles County bureau); and a public relations intern for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

Sagarra has earned numerous journalism awards, including first place in the National Federation of Press Women-Missouri Chapter annual contest. She also received the Missouri Women Legislators’ Award for her coverage of Missouri state government.

Sagarra earned a bachelor of arts degree in English and communications from Lindenwood College and a master of arts degree in communications from Lindenwood. She is a graduate of Parkway West High School.
