Big horn is a historical fiction story set in the Big Horn Mountains in the late 18th century. The small town of Rockwood existed primarily for the support of men called tiehacks. These men cut railroad ties by hand using broad axes.
A depression, severe drought in the Midwest , railroad strikes and other events forced many individuals and families to Rockwood. Threaded through the adventures of one "Ned Benson" is a murder mystery resoved at the end of the book. A forest fire wraps up the story with excitement that should enthrall the reader.

James Ozenberger Is a native of St. Joseph Missouri . He graduated from Central HS and Northwest Mo State University. He is a veteran, having served in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He taught mathematics at Central HS for thirty six years. He and his wife, Barbara, celebrated fifty years marriage shorty before her death.
He has since remarried and is enjoying retirement and fulfilling his dream of writing historical fiction.
