The collections of short stories by the Ink Slingers Guild (ISG) are based on a writing exercise done at every ISG meeting. The exercise must include the chosen words. The words that were chosen this year were: • Glisten • Titillating • Horizon

Included in the anthology is the short story Yellow Ribbon, by Alanna Cormier.

A gentleman immersed in the past, locked in grief, is drawn back toward the present by the vibrant light of a special lady. In a time when manners and reserve were the order of the day, what strange force brings them together?

About Alanna Cormier (Tampa Bay, Florida Author)

Alanna Cormier

I'm originally from Massachusetts, and never missed an opportunity to pick apples, carve pumpkins, or go to Salem for witches and haunted happenings. Now that I'm in Florida, not a day goes by when I don’t miss the changing colors of leaves, but wouldn’t give up not having to shovel snow. Often, I find myself torn between watching a Jane Austen adaptation or hopping on the Tardis for an adventure in time and space.

I joined the Inkslinger’s Guild to help keep me motivated. My first short story was published in November 2015 in the anthology Bent Horizons and my next will be available in the anthology Serenity Rising.

Science fiction, paranormal, romance...I love them individually, but particularly when they're mashed together. My first full length novel is a science fiction twist on Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey. Stay tuned for details as they become available. In the meantime, check out some short stories that I’ve written for Stories My Friends Started and various writing exercises. There’s some other fun stuff too as I love to share my thoughts on books I’ve read and movies I’ve seen.
